Nurse scheduling for South African hospital groups

Safe, fair and efficient nurse scheduling.

Plan and fill nursing shifts across every hospital and ward in your group. Managers build and publish rosters. Permanent and agency nurses book shifts in a few taps on their phones. Every booking is checked against your policies before it is confirmed.

What it does

One system for the people who plan shifts and the people who work them.

Managers and rostering officers

Build rosters by ward, publish open shifts and approve assignments. Live staffing levels show where cover is short, so you spend less time on manual scheduling.

Nurses

Permanent staff and agency nurses see the shifts open to them and book in a few taps on their phones. No phone calls or message groups to chase.

Agencies

Agencies supply nurses through the same system the hospital uses. Shifts released to agencies are filled faster, under the same checks as permanent staff.

Safety checks

Unsafe staffing is stopped before it happens.

Before an assignment is confirmed, Zenza checks it in real time. A booking that breaks a rule does not go through.

1
Double-booking
A nurse cannot be assigned to two overlapping shifts, in any ward or hospital in the group.
2
Fatigue limits
Hours worked and rest between shifts are checked against the limits your organisation sets.
3
Compliance
Expired or missing compliance documents block the assignment until they are sorted out.

Risk indicators show when to step in

Every ward carries a green, amber or red status based on live staffing levels.

Green: fully staffed
Cover meets the level set for the ward. Nothing to do.
Amber: gaps
Cover is below plan. Publish the open shifts or release them to agencies.
Red: critical
Cover is below the safe level. Step in now.
Policies

Set the rules once. The most specific level wins.

Each organisation sets its own policies at group, hospital and ward level. A ward rule overrides the hospital rule, and a hospital rule overrides the group rule. Every booking is checked against whichever applies.

Level 1

Group

The defaults for every hospital in the group.

Level 2

Hospital

Overrides the group default where one hospital works differently.

Level 3, most specific

Ward

Overrides both. An ICU can carry stricter limits than a general ward.

Security and audit

Nurses' personal data stays protected, and you are ready for an audit.

Strict tenant isolation

Each hospital group's data is kept separate from every other organisation on the platform.

Role-based permissions

Managers, rostering officers, nurses and agencies each see and do only what their role allows.

Full audit trail

Every state change is recorded: who published, booked, approved or cancelled, and when.

Signed URLs for documents

Compliance documents are opened through signed links, not open file paths.
